THE TOWNLAND OF LURGABOY

The townland of Lurgaboy is in the parish of Mullaghbrack in Armagh County. It is labelled number 30 on the map.

The 1826 Schools Commission report describes the school in the townland:

"Lurgaboy - A pay school under the care of Nicholas Sheals, of the Roman Catholic denomination, who was in receipt of 10l per annum. The school was held in a house provided by a Mr.McMullan."
