Parish of Kilcluney, Barony of Fews Lower
From the Irish Claidigh Mhor 'Great Clady'
The townland of Cladymore is named from the Clady water, which divides it from the townland of Cladybeg ('Little Clady'), on the east. The name of the stream signifies 'The one who washes/strong flowing one'. There is a village named Clady Milltown on the north-east Barony of Cladymore.
